Location: Castle Rock, CO (Onsite for the first 2 months, hybrid 2-3 days onsite thereafter)

About the Role
Our client is seeking a Sr. Network Engineer to join a dynamic and collaborative team of network professionals. This is an exciting opportunity for a self-starter with broad expertise in networking and the aptitude to handle technical challenges in a fast-paced environment. You'll work hands-on in a Cisco-based network, troubleshooting, mentoring team members, and supporting large-scale projects, including upgrades and deployments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and troubleshoot complex routing and switching environments, including OSPF (multi-area), EIGRP, and BGP.
- Implement and manage Cisco ISE, Cisco ACI, and Cisco Meraki systems, ensuring seamless integration and network security.
- Support software-defined networking (SDN) initiatives and deployment automation using tools like Python, Perl, and Ansible.
- Manage and maintain data center networks with a three-layer design, including OSPF in the data center and BGP for external provider connections.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues using Cisco Prime and other tools.
- Support wireless networks (Cisco preferred but not required) and collaborate with team members to ensure reliable network performance.
- Mentor junior engineers and assist with help desk escalations, providing guidance and troubleshooting expertise.
- Provide 24/7 on-call support as needed (infrequent middle-of-the-night calls).
Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of hands-on networking experience, including a strong understanding of routing and switching protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP).
- Expertise in Cisco ISE, ACI, and Meraki.
- Experience with deployment automation and scripting (Python, Perl, Ansible).
- Familiarity with Palo Alto networks is a plus.
- CCNA or CCNP certification (preferred; active status not required).
- Strong team player with excellent communication skills and the ability to mentor and collaborate.
Schedule
- Full-time onsite for the first two months (8 am - 5 pm, Monday-Friday).
- Hybrid schedule (2-3 days onsite per week) after the initial onboarding period.
Team Structure
- Work alongside a collaborative team consisting of 4 engineers, 2 senior network engineers, a principal network engineer, and a senior telecom engineer. No direct reports, but you'll be involved in mentoring and technical troubleshooting.
